Hi, I am Nidhi. The voice, cook, photographer, videographer behind Healthy Nidhi.

I am a food enthusiast currently based in Dubai, UAE. This blog is my dream project where I document the food that I cook, share recipes and anything and everything I can share food-related.

As much as I enjoy cooking I do not like spending long hours in the kitchen. For me, food is about pleasure than painful hours with long drawn recipes. My blog reflects my philosophy on food and cooking-fast, clever, creative and fresh.

Most of the food that I share are simple and fuss-free which focuses on healthy eating and wholesome ingredients. On the other hand, I have a wicked sweet tooth along with my boys, hence you will find a lot of delicious desserts that I experiment with healthier alternatives.

After completing my B.Sc in home science from Kolkata India, I worked there as an interior designer for a while. I did enjoy occasional cooking though but cooking only started once I got married and moved to Dubai. I loved baking and set up my home-based baking business called ‘Coco tree’. I spend many years knee-deep in buttercream and fondant churning out many delicious custom order cakes and cupcakes

But one fine day I quit everything with immense guilt after seeing young children suffer from diabetes. I did not want to sell sugar anymore.

I had put on immense weight with all that cake sampling and was looking for ways to shed it.

A friend suggested that I give up rice and wheat for a while and see the results. This meant having a completely gluten-free lifestyle with no or low rice intake. This opened a completely new world of cooking. I enjoyed it more than ever.

Instagram and YouTube became a platform to share my culinary skills. I started sharing gluten-free recipes regularly. Without any health condition, I totally enjoyed my gluten-free lifestyle.

Expensive, not easily available, elaborate cooking process, tasteless, fad were some of the taboos associated with gluten-free cooking. I knew they were far from true. Indians largely ate gluten-free food and it was simply going back to basics.

Besides all the gluten-free food I love the delicious swaps with healthier alternatives. Going back to the roots with wholesome ingredients was the call of the hour and I completely loved doing it.

The food that I cook is largely influenced by my current lifestyle and all the food I grew up eating at home inspired by the Indian heritage. Besides blogging, I am a food stylist, recipe developer and content creator.
